THE hunt continues to find a talented young artist to design the plaque to commemorate the opening of the new high- dependency unit later this year.

We are offering children across York the chance to come up with a winning design by entering our competition.

Our award-winning design editor Lisa Cook will judge the entries with the hospital's deputy chief executive Mike Proctor.

The designs must not include any words. They must be a hospital-themed picture that would cheer youngsters up when they are poorly.

Any child under 16 who attends a school in The Press circulation area of York, North and East Yorkshire, is eligible to take part in the competition.

All designs must be sent with the entrant's name, age, school and a day-time contact number for family or school to Nicola Fifield, The Press Guardian Angels Appeal plaque competition, The Press, 76-86 Walmgate, York, YO1 9YN.

The deadline for entries is Tuesday, July 22.

Designs must be drawn on A4 paper, with the longest sides of the paper at the top and bottom of the picture. Please do not fold your pictures.

Usual Newsquest (York) competition rules apply. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. We regret that your pictures cannot be returned.
