Carol McGovern
Ritchie McCabe Just proud and thankful
Kalvin McLeod
Martin Charles Its time for a change. Start caring for our troops.
Chris Childs These brave lads are called upon to do an unspeakable task. The least the gov can do is respect them and give them what they need to do the job YOU wanted them to do.
Mark Concliffe You send our boys and girls into war zones so the least you can do is look after them when they need it... and not rely on charities to pick up your responsibilities
Barry Smith
Mrs D Heritage
John Andrew Griffiths The US have always looked after their troop's, it's high time the UK did the same. Honour them as they have honoured their country...
Steve Smith That we should even have to create a petition to force the Government to do more proves enough isn't being done. Public opinion before me, and no doubt after me will tell the same story... the Government are failing in their duty of care.
Nick Frain YOU sent them out there now YOU look after them they have the right to be treated fairly, they did their job without question now YOU do yours and care for them as they should be.
Chris Walker
Sara Ali Why are we involved in Afghanistan, it's not our fight. My thoughts on Christmas Day will be with the families of those soldiers who will not be returning home.
Robert Moore
Leonard Jennings Governments send men and boys to fight their battles for them, and when they come home injured ignore them. As Citizen Smith would say POWER TO THE PEOPLE!! Lets stand up for our ex Military and ourselves for a change.
Bob Cole It's about time this country started looking after ex service men and women.
Bob and Glen Wallace How much longer are our lads expected to go on fighting this foolhardy battle? Let the Afghans get on with it and let our chaps come home where they belong. We send our heartfelt sympathy to all the families, we have lived through the 2nd world war, enough is enough.
Peter, Christine & Victoria Yates It's about time the Government faced it's responsibilities
Julie Nelthorpe Army dont do negative, always in my thoughts, god save the queen and all those she watches over, long live the Royal British Legion
Kate Jackson Our Grandson is at present serving in Afghanistan and I must say what a relief it is when the television gives the dreadful news of yet another death and we are not the relatives that have had to be informed. God bless them all.
Valerie Beasley This country has always treated its service people poorly. It is time (after 12 years of a labour gov) to treat them better.
Sarah Leeder
Patricia Waring Why aren't we doing as much if not more for our veterans as they are in the states - they are establishing support programmes for families and funding extensive research into treatments - The UK Govt appear to be in denial.
Sue Vaughan This campaign has my total support, but what an indictment that it should be necessary.
Vicky Jackson
Patrick Walker
Dinah Marshall
Samantha Collins
Judi Walker Our service men and women are doing an important job for very little or no return. We should support them in every way possible.
Lynne Mountford I feel so proud of our soldiers and so ashamed of this government. We need someone with military experience to run the MOD, not a clown like Ainsworth, perhaps then, our soldiers would be provided with the equipment and support that they deserve. Also, Military Hospitals should be brought back into service as a matter of urgency to provide treatment and ongoing support to those who are physically and mentally harmed in the line of duty.
J Robert James When one signs up to any one of the services, you take the Oath to fight for Queen and Country. Every service person, should be protected and supported to the enth degree, particularly when injured and mentally scarred. The present government should be absolutely ashamed of its self with the way it is "costing" particular injurys. Our service men and women must receive the ultimate care and compensation, whatever their injuries!
Eric Wilson The compensation for injuries incurred on active service are scandalously low and in many cases out of all proportion with compensation given to others for relatively trivial claims. A thorough review is called for. The whole purpose and use of our armed forces in the national interest also needs a root and branch review. What for example are they doing in Afghanistan in the first place, or for that matter why were they in Iraq?Do we ever learn the lessons of history or to measure the arrogance of politicians?
C Dawson
Rob Scholey
Shirley Marshsll
Pam Wray
Jeannette & Dave Slade Do something for our Forces MR BROWN! they deserve better than they get.
L Gibson
K G Swales & P E Swales
Vicky Balaam
Lucille Oconnor Our lads and lasses deserve the best of every thing and thats because they are the best so somebody highup in the so called goverment best do somthing mr brown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or go try fight like they have to yourself and see how long you would last!!!!!!!! a what do you think?
Leah West
Debbie Rawling (Forces Wife)
Sean Rawling
Christopher Jepson Give our forces the compensation they rightly derserve, after all they are giving up life and limb to make a better life for others.
Mandy Jepson Our service personnel do a sterling job in very difficult circumstances, also at times without the correct kit. I have both a son (Afghanistan) and a daughter (Iraq and Afghanistan) who have served on Operations and have other family members serving as well. God forbid that they were injured, I would like to think that they received compensation that they deserved to help them lead as near normal live should they be injured. So the powers that be take note give our troops the money they need and stop giving MPs ridiculous amounts of money and paying out compensation to the terrorists. God bless to all of you serving wherever that may be and hope you come home save and sound to your families.
Michelle Seaman
Les Seaman My son is in Afghanistan & he has been involved maijor ops & lost his 2 mates. He was in shock for a while but with counciling he is getting on with what he trained for, but with better funding we can help these guys better.
Dave Benson (Iraq veteran)
Les Woodward The Servicemen and women in Afghanistan deserve the best equipment and all the resources needed to do the Job. This Government is trying to wage a campaign "On the cheap" and our troops are paying the price with their lives. It is an utter disgrace. But what do we expect of a Government that closed the Remploy factory in York, throwing disabled people on the Scrapheap? If the remploy factories close what work will be available for those wounded in battle, whether in Afghanistan or any other conflict? If they have their way we will see the return to the days of 1918 when wounded soldiers had to sell matches on street corners to earn a crust of bread!
P Hutchinson My niece's husband is in Afghanistan and all he say's is it's my job but what I say is at the very least let our country take care of our soldiers, they deserve the best because they are the best
Chris Teeling
Jon Bradburn A soldier signs up for all sorts of reasons, they fight for all sorts of reasons. They moan to each but not to the rest of us. No matter what they won't say no - just get the job done. The least our country can do is equip them as best we can and care for them (and their dependants) if the worst happens. At the moment we are failing to do both. Dept of honour is about right and it up to our people to make sure it is honoured!
Jim Prentice
Angela Dunn
Jason (Bobby) Sands ex DWR 3 Batt TA The government must increase the defence budget instead of cutting it back year after year disbanding and merging regiments should not take place because eventually our security and defence will not function and more lives will be lost as a result of these actions. The MOD has a duty of care to ensure that our service men and women have the right equipment and support for the role they undertake in conflict and in peace time and the men and women who serve are cared for correctly and accordingly with the dignity and respect the so rightly deserve. We are a proud nation and I fully support all conflicts we are involved in but feel ashamed of how we treat our service men and women. THIS MUST CHANGE and if not then the MOD must be brought to account for their actions and criminal charges must take place. Well done to our armed forces keep up the great job you are doing in the current situation can't wait for your safe return home once the job is done.
Stuart Blackburn, Ex 1PWO As an ex serviceman, I am appalled at the way our forces are treated. They do an unenviable job in the toughest conditions. Our country should be proud of them.
Joshua Greenwood Our soldiers give everything, and receive nothing. It seems the Military Covenant has been forgotten.
Marianna Proietti I have signed this petition hoping something will change for the better. The Not Forgotton Association are the oldest service charity that help injured service personnell and all the men and women that have since left the services, please check out their web site
Barry Cook (ex RAF)
David & Kathryn Laverack
Lindsey Dickinson My brother is currently serving in afghanistan and I wish him and all his comrads a safe return home.
Chris Barryson These men and women are true heroes, battling against an evil and cowadly enemy. They deserve the full treatment a hero warrants.
Chris Cockerill
Stephen Ellis The Army and its fellow armed forces used to have some of the best hospitals in the world from Hong Kong to North West Germany. I and many other ex-serving soldier including our wives, children and husbands owe a large debt of gratitude to past military hospitals and military doctors and nurses which have all gone. This also includes the regiments we all served in due to constant government cut backs. Regiments are now so few the army needs proping up with the TA and civilian hospital and nursing staff. It situation has now become so bad that the MOD have official stated that they can not supply the soldiers if the Fire brigade went on national strike again. This is also saying we can not afford to get involved in overseas conflicts unless government funding is increased and the regiments disbanded reformed and returned to the same operational strengths as the late 1970's.
Ian McLoughlin (ex. K.O.R.B. Regmnt.)
David Gregory Men and women who lay their lives on the line, even knowing it is their job, do not deserve this shoddy treatment.
David Brown
Vicky Barnett
Major(Retd) K O'Sullivan MBE These men and women are worth a damm sight more than the sleasy politicians who sent them in. After 40+ years service I wonder why the young people of today bother for the paltry salary they get.
James Allen As a feelow ex serviceman who gave my all for 12 years before being spat out into a lack of support, lack of recognition and a distinct lack of worth, I support this campaign more than I supported my regiment!
Julian McKechnie If only our politicians exhibited the same level of courage and patriotism.
Barbara Roberts Its about time some one did something for the soldiers. The greedy MPs' won't.
Kate Nicholson I have real pride in those who serve our country, and offer up my thanks and support to them.
Rebecca Burns York A/C for Support Our Soldiers
Georgiana Myler Great campaign. I am proud of our troops and hope this campaign will help returning soldiers.
Ian Rimmer For years I had PAX insurance, cheap and well remunerated if required, with the Armed Forces and never claimed once. All very well in the static environment of the old Germany in the Cold War. As soon as it melted and we faced a real death threat, PAX was no longer available. Cynical?
Karen Cussons Great Campaign - you all have our full support and we know you all do a fantastic job. Very proud of all our troops and their bravery in what must seem a thankless task at times.
Rosie Wilson We are proud of all your efforts, keep up the good work. We will continue to pray for your all.
Peter Harrison
Mark Thompson if you think you are suffering from PTSD then please dont feel ashamed to ask for HELP if i hadnt of got in contact with COMBAT STRESS then i could of lost everything there is a hell of a lot of men out there living life and suffering alone
Julie Thompson the service men and woman deserve the wright too lead a normal life when they return from war and this will not happen unless they have a safe place too go like combat stress living with ptsd affects your whole life and that of there families as a wife of a sufferer i know because i live it with my husban it takes over and nothing you do is ever easy and normal but with the help from combat stress life is a little easier but now my husband has too fight for a war pension as well as deal with his problem and why should any one who has been through so much have too re live the trauma again and again too get what they deserve they have done there jobs and done them well so who has the right too determin weather they come under the right criteria for a bit of normality. its not about money its about giving these brave soldiers a little something back i couldnt do there job could you
Brian Carter
Marilyn J Pettit
Robert Nemeti
Paul McNess So proud of each and every one of our heroes serving this country
Claire Taylor
Wendy Cuthbert So proud of each and everyone serving their country. We have servicemen/woman to be proud of! My son spent Christmas and New Year 2008/09 in a FOB in Helmand - now back as medical staff in Derriford Hospital Plymouth the NHS staff, are complaining that he shouldn't need leave this Christmas and New Year - as he was "off" the ward - last Christmas and New Year! !If you call sentry duty at 2.00am on New Years eve in the middle of a war zone off duty I guess technically he was "off" work. These civilians need a reality check! Maybe they will swap their duty rota for someone on the front line!
Lee Maloney
Linda Maloney
Howard Lester My son is an 18 year old new soldier in the British Army. He is proud to serve as we are proud of him for wanting to serve. The young men and women of our armed services deserve our support and our thanks for the sometimes thankless jobs they do. Well done to you all.
Sharon Bone
Brett Duncan
Alfred Redpath We cannot pull out our troops, otherwise thes brave men will have died in vein. Those who have survived with horrific injuries must be kept in the best health care no matter what the cost. We owe them so much for defending our country too.
Michael Moran It is about time that the mod takes ptsd seriously
Kirsty Jones I believe that all the service men and women who are putting their lives on the line for each and every one of us should get the support they need when returning from such an horrendous experience. With myself joining the forces next year I would like the same kind of support for myself if I was to be deployed.
Helen Birdsall The incumbent Government owes our service personnel the compensation which they rightly deserve without adding the angst of having to go through courts to obtain it! How much pressure does this shambolic administration expect our men and women to face before they receive their moral and lawful reparation?
