YORK is very lucky to have a “real gem” like One, says customer Carrie Geddes.

She said the shop at 1, Peter Lane, was the type of unusual business which attracted visitors to the city.

Nominating One for our Shop Of The Year award, Carrie, of Clifton Dale, said: “It’s great to have a local outlet you can buy organic and ethically sourced clothing, accessories and jewellery that are really lovely and unusual.

“Anne McCrickard is the owner, and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. She does all the buying and selling, and can tell you the background of everything she sells.

“It’s a real change from the usual high street run of the mill. This sort of local business is a real gem.”
