The latest signing by York City is making waves off the pitch in the business world.

The club is set to become one of the first to benefit from the combined footballing, human resources and recruitment expertise of Yorkshire firm Synergy People Solutions.

York City is one of the first clubs in the region to appoint Synergy as its preferred HR partner within a month of the company’s launch, closely followed by Bradford City, Bury and Ossett Albion FC.

Synergy is the brainchild of HR consultant Brian Carlton and recruitment specialist Billy Bingham. Both have successfully run their own businesses for several years and have extensive experience of the footballing world. The club’s general manager, Ross Potter, said: “We are delighted to announce our latest signing off the field. Synergy People Solutions is a very forward thinking consultancy and we’re really pleased to have them on board as our latest club partner. We fully expect that this partnership can only get stronger over the coming years.”

Billy said: “Our knowledge of the professional sports world and our combined experience means we can start helping clients from the point at which they think they’re ready to recruit. “By working closely with every client we can help them identify when they need to recruit and at what level; then help them find, keep and develop the right people. Nobody is doing this for small and medium enterprises in the region, and certainly nobody is offering such bespoke support to professional sports clubs.”
