A NEW software solution for the cardboard-box industry launched by a North Yorkshire firm has received its first export order from the Republic of Ireland – without even trying.
The nearly £2 million turnover Onesys Group has begun actively marketing its OrderlineBOX software, and has made a sale even before an export push.
It was the result of a recommendation from an existing OrderlineBOX customer in the UK, impressed with the system which controls the process of box-making from manufacturing to invoicing.
Laurie Pottage, Onesys’ sales director, said: “We are very pleased with the successful run of sales we have had recently with OrderlineBOX.
“It is proving to be very competitive in this industry, being friendlier to use and much more cost effective than alternative products.
“We have had a very high level of customer recommendations for this product and we look forward to starting full scale marketing shortly. With this export sale in mind we also look to expanding our efforts further into Europe.”
He said with hundreds of box-making companies all over Europe there is millions of pounds-worth of export potential of the software which, depending on extent of use costs between £4,000 to £5,000.
The Irish order comes hot on the heels of the sale by the company of a 200-user Coretime time and expense management software to London-based construction consultants Northcroft.
Mr Pottage said: “These are definitely signs of green shoots, with more firms committing to projects than they were prepared to over the past year.”
Onesys, based in Main Street, Little Ouseburn, near Boroughbridge, delivers complete distribution, manufacturing and service sector software systems. It offers consultancy, project management, application software, user training plus ongoing support and upgrades. It has more than 300 clients across a wide range of sectors, serviced from offices covering the UK.
Established in 1972 by Richard Knowles, it is now the largest UK partner of Global Business Systems and Sage Professional Services Division. It has also formed partnerships with vendors such as Version One IBM and Microfocus.
