A LEADING robotics firm is planning to expand its North Yorkshire premises after taking over a Ryedale company.
Hallin Robotics Ltd, which is based at York Road Industrial Estate in Malton and was set up in 2006, has been taken over by international firm, SMD Robotics Ltd.
Stuart Parkes, business development manager for SMD and former managing director of Hallin, said: “SMD is a world leading provider of subsea vehicles and deck equipment, serving the oil and telecoms, renewable energy, scientific markets.
“These are very exciting times for the company.
“We are seeing significant growth.
“We believe the nuclear decommissioning market is beginning to recognise the benefit of quality engineered solutions.”
The company also has operations at Seascale in Cumbria, and Wallsend, Tyne and Wear.
