A NEW North Yorkshire wedding planning company is celebrating the success of its first wedding fair by planning a bigger event next month.
The Wedding Affair attracted top wedding suppliers from all over Yorkshire with its launch event at Ripley Castle near Harrogate in November.
Now the Wedding Affair’s York founders Lisa Hogg and Allison Daniel are organising a second fair at Duncombe Park, Helmsley, on February 21 – and plan to hold further events around North Yorkshire throughout the year.
Lisa and Allison met when attending the Acorn business development programme at York St John University.
Already running their own individual businesses, the duo discovered that they shared a mutual passion for weddings and launched The Wedding Affair as a joint venture.
Lisa said: “Setting up a new business in the midst of a recession may be seen as risky, but our research has shown us that the wedding market is still buoyant, and our offering is a cut above the norm.”
Their first fair at Ripley Castle exceeded their expectations, with one supplier taking 20 bookings on the day.
