Go Ape High Wire Forest Adventure named as finalist in The National Business Awards

GO APE High Wire Forest Adventure, which has a course in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire, has been named as a finalist in The National Business Awards sponsored by Orange.

It has been nominated as one of the top achievers in the Small To Medium-Sized Business Award category. Winners will be unveiled at an award ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on November 10.

Martin Lyne, director for small and medium enterprise for headline sponsor, Orange, said: “To reach the final stage of the UK’s most important business recognition programme is an enormous achievement.

“It is companies like these, who are bucking the economic trend and delivering excellent results that will benefit most when the upturn finally comes.”

An “overjoyed” Tristram Mayhew, Go Ape founder, said: “We have won leisure and tourism awards for our Go Ape High Wire Forest Adventure courses in recent years, and we are exceptionally pleased to be nominated for this award.

“We are proud of our growing team and our achievements in the last year. Creating a wow experience for our customers is what drives us”.

Tristram, together with his wife, Rebecca Mayhew, were holidaying in France when they discovered a tree top adventure course set deep in the Auvergne National Forest. Research showed there were some 200 similar small-scale courses in France but none in the UK so Tristram began his own version.

Now, nearly eight years later, Go Ape courses are located in 22 forests across the UK, stretching from the south coast to the Scottish Highlands.
