IT is the firm which organises one of the biggest events on the business calendar in Yorkshire – and it’s booming.
Tailormade Conference Management Ltd, (TCM) of Elvington, which manages Venturefest, a massive annual event which attracts more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and investors to York Racecourse, is pitching for the Small Business Of The Year title in The Press Business Awards 2011.
Over nine years since TCM was formed, there has been steady growth, but it has surged over the past year, with work valued at about £100,000.
Two people have been recruited to bring staff numbers to seven to cope with accelerated demand which began in January and February as TCM took on one of the most complex of its schedules ever – managing product launch events for an international chemical company.
It consisted of 37 separate events over seven weeks in 34 rugby clubs throughout the UK.
Now, with a continuing community workload for events in Elvington and Wheldrake and with one of the largest conferences it has ever worked on scheduled for November, managing director Chris Wilson has plans to move its headquarters to premises a third larger at Forest Farm Business Park south of Fulford on the A19, in September.
