BAM Construction, the £1 billion-turnover construction company, has created strong educational links with Selby schools while working on new facilities for Selby College and the Selby Community Project to build a new hospital.

The business’s activities have included health and safety presentations and working with school councils to plant time capsules on the building site, as well as providing careers advice and helping schools with practical tasks such as fitting finger guards on all doors and new light covers on existing lights.

Penny Down, education co-ordinator for BAM, said: “Many of BAM’s clients have a keen interest in the betterment of education and through engaging in these activities, we are able to demonstrate that we share their goals and can support them in a real and positive way.”
