Superbreak Mini-Holidays of York has a growing appetite for business competition victories.

Having won four awards at this year’s annual Globe Travel Awards, the travel firm, which employs more than 200 people at Eboracum Way, Clifton Moor, is targeting the Large Business Of The Year And Tourism and Hospitality titles in The Press Business Awards 2010.

At the Globe Travel Awards, Superbreak was up against 30 other travel businesses across the four categories in which they were nominated, but managed to scoop the lot – becoming the first individual company ever to win four Globes in one year.

It won: Best Operator – UK holidays; Best Operator – Short Breaks; Best Accommodation Only Provider and Best Travel Trade Website. All categories were voted for exclusively by more than 6,000 travel agents nationally.

Superbreak, which has been based in York for more than 20 years, is part of the £141.3 million Hotel Breaks division of the £473.4 million turnover Holidaybreak Plc, whose latest pre-tax profits were £28.4 million.

Superbreak Mini Holidays helped the Hotel Breaks division to sell short breaks in London, the UK and continental Europe, as well as London thetre tickets, to about two million customers per year, via a variety of distribution channels and websites.

That is why Superbreak and its sister brands continue to invest millions of pounds in new systems and IT/web technological solutions to provide superior customer services.
