BEAUTY – and profits – are skin deep.

Rachael Dunseath, of Harrogate, has been proving the point as people clamour for her own myroo skincare brand.

It all began when her husband, Philip, was made redundant early last year and she began experimenting with home-made present ideas.

She produced some simple skincare products which were so well received by friends and family, that she researched the practicalities of running her own skincare business.

Now, having easily leapt the regulatory hurdles, Rachael is pitching for the Small Business Of The Year and Women In Enterprise titles in The Press Business Awards.

Her eight products, carefully formulated in her garage workshop at home in Grasmere Crescent, sell at top craft fairs and online through her websites, myroo.co.uk and millyandflossy.co.uk Milly and Flossy are Rachael’s two children after whom he has also created a range of children’s skincare products.

Now she plans several more product launches and is exploring home patrties as another selling avenue. “My three-year vision is to build a small roster of carefully selected like-minded wholesalers, but, at present, I am focused on making my retail business a big success and I think I am well on the way.”

But why myroo? Rachael says: “That’s Philip’s fond name for me.”
