IN A matter of months, CBT Clinics, a York psychological health provider. has seen its business expand from just one office in Low Petergate to an impressive 150 clinicians across the UK.
The organisation, which largely helps people recover from the mental effects of trauma, now draws on a massive team of British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies accredited psychotherapists, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists.
The clinics provide treatments to deal with a wide range of common problems such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobic anxiety and chronic pain.
Their use of cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on helping patients become aware of, and hence dispel, any unhelpful thoughts or behaviours that can lead to further psychological problems. The business offers short waiting times in private and relaxing surroundings.
The company’s major clients include the Ministry of Defence, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, and medico-legal partners throughout the country. Director Antony Brown said: “We are a young and dynamic company who are committed to improving the lives of our clients through high-quality professionalism while remaining a compassionate, people-centred company.”
