They call it Kirkham Priory now but it was always Kirkham Abbey when we camped in the field behind the signal box in the 1940s, courtesy Mr Turner the station master, whose son Ray was a club member of the Young Peoples Fellowship in York like us. If you don't agree, have a look at the signal box next time you are there.
