This week, there were a couple of days when there was a sea fret on the east coast but we oicked two beauties. Went to Whitby on thursday. Started off through Slingsby, there is council house there with a beautiful garden there as you come down the hill from Castle Howard. Obviously an OAP. Came out at Welburn and over the main road to St Gregory's Minster; the saxon church near Kirby Moorside. Having reminded ourselves of the beauty there, we went on through Fadmoor and Gilmoor where the view form near the old church over the moors is amazing. Turning off up through Farndale the bell heather (first to flower) was starting to emerge.

More to follow.
