So what kind of idiots are we suppose to be York? If the City of York Council agree an additional charge for emptying Green Bins to get of green waste, then that is an increase in our Council Tax. Don't try telling me otherwise!

We wouldn't be allowed to opt out would we? Unless all the unused bins were collected and stored or re-cycled (what farce), how would refuse collectors know which bins to collect?

If only those who paid were left with bins, then I presume they will be supplied with locks so that the service can be exclusive! More expense!

Will the recycling targets for Green Waste be shot to hell (what are the targets anyway)?

Finally we are not talking about a twice monthly service as this was withdrawn over the winter months anyway (without any consultation) so how much of a rise in Council Tax are we being asked to pay for about 18 green bins worth of garden waste?

This exercise should highlight either how unbelievably expensive the service is, or what a ridiculously small amount of money the council are trying to save.

Remember everyone, Council Tax pays for services, so if the council want us to pay more we want more services!

Oh, by the way, if you want to save money don't send council employees on trips to discuss twinning with towns in China (or anywhere for that matter) Spend the money on what people living in York want, waste paper bins and convenient Household Waste Recycling Centres, in Beckfield Lane and Towthorpe.

City of York Council will have us knee deep in rotting vegetation, attractively capped with a generous sprinkling of rubbish that won't fit into black bins, with a final topping of smaller items that would have gone into waste bins. The whole thing is a fiasco that will make York a scruffy, dirty, smelly, stink hole, that no visitor will ever visit because of the health and safety hazards York will be famous for! Will they then employ a consultant to try and work out why?
