Some say we should know our true position in society and be content with what God has given us.

That's alright for those like us who have worked our way into a situation we can be content with; enough is enough.

It is also alright for those who have pushed themselves into wealth beyond the comprehension of most. They feel more secure with the rest feeling content with their lot.

There are some like those whose conscience tells them to pay their full contribution and give some back to society, like the Secret Millionaires on TV, who have usually worked themselves out of poverty. Quakers like the Rowntrees did it through their business skills. Bill Gates is another present day business success with conscience. It is alright for them.

It is wonderful for far too many like the politicians, bankers, financial traders and the rest, who will never have enough. They will screw anybody content with their lot to get more, given the opportunity.

Unfortunately they own governments and the world economy and act like God's disciples with the power they have. They shame the honest work ethic of the majority.

As the gap between them and poverty grows relentlessly, it is far from alright for those at the sticky end of every stick society and the economy throws at them.

For them, it is totally unfair and very few are content to be 'in it together with them'.
