There is a massive political argument going on about the NHS and services. Costs have to be made, BUT!!!

My wife survives a terminal, inoperable lung cancer diagnosis from 2001, receives eyeball injections for dry macular degeneration which causes blindness, receives regular treatment for osteoporosis and needs help to walk.

I survive a mini stroke, had both cataracts replaced, 4 years later had lazar treatment restoring full sight, have drops for glaucoma, pills for blood clotting, cholesterol, high blood pressure, enlarged prostate and old man's red nose.

Heaven knows what that would cost in a private system. Probably, all our relatively modest savings, pension and maybe the home we have managed to accumulate, after paying full tax dues and national insurance in a full and valuable working lifetime.

My father died before retirement at 58 after serving 5 years in the navy, !915 -1920, a hard working life bringing up 5 children, who have all made a valuable contribution to the country, mini strokes followed by bigger ones and a BIG one which took him.

Do we or don't we, and millions of others like us, now deserve what we have? For those who think we don't, there are more and more of us and I hope you get there. We use our votes.

We are now 82 and enjoying the freedom of every day, in the time left to us, under our own steam.

Both parties who have dominated our political system over the last decade, have done some good and some bad and passed the buck when they s**t their potful. Sorry for the rude expression!

Come May there will be a referendum to give fairer votes and more power to voters of minor parties. That is if those who get most out of First Past the Post can't stop it. Eventually, one way and another they will have to give a fairer share of power to us.

Vote YES in May!!!!! We will all be better off and more united.
