Andy Murray has spent thousands of hours in play and grueling training, getting to centre court Wimbleton against Stanislas Wawrinka who was every bit as determined as he was to draw on every last ounce of mental, body and playing strengths within them and move on to the next level of the highest heights in their sport.

They could not have had any better training for what lies ahead for them both and millions of people around the world will remember their epic battle as one of the greatest.
