A RANGE of woolly creations will be on sale throughout today in York as part of a major national cancer fundraising campaign.

Ramshambles Wool Shop, in Shambles, has joined forces with Cancer Research UK and Channel Four as part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

The shop has been collecting knitted creations from people in York and will today put them up for sale at New Earswick Folk Hall, from 11am to 10pm. Money raised will go to the campaign.

Rachel Speight-McGregor, 42, a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, said: “We are calling on everyone in the region to follow our lead and Stand Up To Cancer.

“Most of us know people whose lives have been touched by the disease. This is a chance to join the fight and make a stand, to help more people to survive.”

The event is to be filmed by Channel Four, which is also backing the Stand Up To Cancer campaign. Visit .standuptocancer.org.uk for a fundraising pack and more details.
