Decision due on noise claims at Elvington Airfield
9:56am Thursday 18th October 2012 in News
A DISTRICT judge was today expected to decide whether two firms broke noise regulations with motor sport and motor vehicle activities on Elvington Airfield.
City of York Council brought the case against Elvington Events Ltd, Elvington Park Ltd and the companies’ company secretary John Christopher Hudson after local residents complained about noise nuisance.
The firms and Hudson, 63, of Main Street, Sutton-on-Derwent, deny two charges each. They are alleged to have broken a noise abatement notice on October 16, 2011, and August 7, 2011, by not ensuring that noise generated by a public address system and motor vehicle and motor sport activities was kept below a specified level.
They are standing trial at Selby Magistrates Court.
