A64 bridge delays warning

DRIVERS are being warned of delays and disruption on the A64 near York from next week when engineers carry out repairs to a bridge at Bishopthorpe.

The dual carriageway between Askham Bar and Fulford Interchange will have speed restrictions in place during the day, and the westbound carriageway will be fully closed at night at the Fulford Interchange, with signed diversions through the city centre between 8pm and 6am.

The Highways Agency said drivers should allow extra time to travel through the road works.

Work to replace the westbound bridge joint and the bridge parapet posts will last from October 22 until December 7.
