A LORRY has overturned on the A645 near Drax.
The vehicle, which is believed to be carrying rice, did not spill it load during the incident, which happened at just after 1pm close to Brickhill Lane, but the road is closed in both directions.
The driver of the lorry, a 47-year-old man, suffered a head injury and a possible broken arm in the crash and has been taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A police spokesman said the driver’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police are still at the scene, and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are cleaning up spilt diesel. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
