Jury in football trial is discharged

THE jury in the trial of Jody Lewis Haw at York has failed to reach a verdict and been discharged.

The CPS will now decide whether to hold a retrial.

Haw, 30, of Malvern Avenue, Acomb, denies an allegation that he caused grievous bodily harm to Daniel Hebditch by breaking his jaw during a cup match on Sunday, October 30, on Knavesmire.

At the time, Haw played for the Dick Turpin pub and Mr Hebditch for Huntington WMC.
