A PROCESSION of the most senior legal judges in the region took place through York yesterday.

The acting Dean of York and Canon Chancellor, the Reverend Glyn Webster, welcomed the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, the High Sheriffs of the North Eastern Circuit, judges and representatives of the legal profession from the North East of England at the Annual Legal Service, which was held at York Minster yesterday.

The service included readings, special music and prayers for everyone involved in the legal profession, and was led by Father Edward Corbould, from Ampleforth Abbey, who gave the sermon.

The Reverend Canon Peter Moger, from the minster, said: “Once again, it is a privilege for York Minster to host this service, and to be able to support the High Sheriffs and members of the legal profession in their vital work throughout Yorkshire and the North East.”

"And what is the point of this debacle,there is nothing special about the legal profession".These so called senior legal judges should be concentrating on the job that they are highly paid for,which in some cases the sentences and comments are ridiculous."
