A TEAM of bookmakers from Coral, including chief executive Andy Hornby, took part in a 30-mile walk to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Changing Faces charity.

The walk began at the Coral shop on Long Street, Easingwold on Friday and ended at York Racecourse on Saturday.

The final furlong was broadcast live on Channel 4’s The Morning Line. Others taking part included James Partridge, chief executive of Changing Faces, and Macmillan fundraising director, Lynda Thomas.

They stopped at two other Coral shops in Clifton and The Stonebow, York, along the route where they took part in various activities.

Andy Hornby said: “Up and down the country our shops have supported Macmillan Cancer Support in their own way from dressing up as the Incredible Hulk, hosting the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and decorating shops across the country in the green banners of Macmillan. We all wanted do our bit. A big part of our business is racing and so it’s fitting that the finish line should be at York Racecourse.”
