North Yorkshire pupil named teen hero
9:23am Saturday 13th October 2012 in News
A NORTH Yorkshire pupil has been named a teen hero for his brave battle against illness.
George Stocker, 13, who studies at Queen Ethelburga’s College, was nominated for the Radio One Teen Awards by his sister Kelly.
George was diagnosed with a brain tumour four years ago and underwent more than 80 weeks of chemotherapy, operations and treatment, but still had the strength to start fundraising for children’s charity Candlelighters.
George, who is from Ribston, near Wetherby, was one of the bearers of the Olympic Torch this summer, has raised more than £50,000 to help children with cancer and their families.
