Perry Dixon, of Rawcliffe, York, who is to appear on the Get Well Soon programme on CBeebies next week
SIX-YEAR-OLD Perry Dixon could be a star of the future.
The Clifton Green Primary School pupil in York is among a group from his school to star in the CBeebies television show Get Well Soon, which teaches youngsters about health and medical issues.
Programme makers spent a day filming the two shows, A Spot Of Bother about hand, foot and mouth disease, in which Perry dressed up to star as a super germ, and The Itchy Spot, about chicken pox.
They will be shown at 4pm on Wednesday and on Monday, November 26.
Perry’s dad, Tony, said: “He thought it was great. He was up for it.
“He is not a shy child and he is looking forward to seeing it.
“We were over the moon to hear – we can’t wait till Wednesday.”
Perry’s mum, Karen, and sisters Ellie, 15, and Lydia, 14, were also looking forward to seeing his debut television appearance which they will get on disc for Perry to remember when he is older, he said.
All of the reception and year one children at the school were put forward to be in the programme, and eight were selected by producers.
Get Well Soon was filmed on the school playing field in Clifton last June.
The other children selected to be in the programme were Helen Gill, Scarlett Paxton, Peter Honing, Mohammad Mohiuddin, Theo Dwyer, Lydia Parson and Ebony Turnbull.
