New charity furniture shop to open in Heworth
7:52am Friday 5th October 2012 in News
Shop manager Maria Aebi and Martin Stephenson, of Dayfield Graphics, put the finishing touches to the new St Leonard’s Hospice furniture shop in Heworth
The finishing touches are being put in place ready for the opening of a new charity furniture shop in York.
The new St Leonard’s Hospice shop in Heworth Village aims to build on the success of the charity’s first furniture store which opened in Acomb in 1998.
The new shop will be managed by Maria Aebi, who has been working for the hospice as relief manager at its Haxby shop.
The shop’s signage has been supplied by Dayfield Graphics of Clifton Moor, whose owner Martin Stephenson is one of the hospice’s loyal supporters.
Helen Moreton, head of retail at St Leonard’s, said: “We are very pleased to be opening a new furniture store, and Heworth is the ideal location.
“It will join our eight shops in raising funds for the work of the hospice in caring for local people and for their families.
“We are grateful to Martin and his colleagues at Dayfield Graphics for our sign, and we look forward to welcoming lots of new customers, as well as old friends when we open in a few weeks.”

So many people chuck out furniture that still has a lot of life left in it that could be sold in aid of an excellent and worthy cause such as this!
