Resurfacing work schemes to start
9:42am Thursday 4th October 2012 in News
RESURFACING work will be carried out on several roads in and around York next week.
The schemes, which will see skid-resistant micro-asphalt surfaces being laid, start on Monday at Main Street in Elvington, Netherwindings and part of West Nooks in Haxby, Melcombe Avenue, Chipstead Walk and Portisham Place in Strensall, Longwood Road and Rivelin Way at Clifton Moor, and The Village and Sandy Lane in Stockton-on-the-Forest.
The work by City of York Council is expected to take two weeks and will be carried out between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, although the Elvington work – which will mean a temporary closure of Main Street next Wednesday – will be restricted to between 9.15am and 4pm.

I wonder if they'll do the usual and skimp on materials and not bother putting proper kerbs in, we'll have the usual pot holes everywhere within a year. Typical false economy.

Yet another source of traffic problems for the people of York. Together with the absolutely pathetic ring-road, I might as well walk the 30 mile round trip to work. Might get there quicker, too!
