EU ‘failing’ over unemployment

THE European Union has been accused of “failing people” after its new unemployment figures showed year-on-year increases, according to a Yorkshire Euro MP.

Godfrey Bloom, who represents UKIP in Brussels, said joblessness was rising across Europe and the average unemployment rate for under-25s was now above 22 per cent.

Mr Bloom said: “Britain’s employment rate is treading water, but if it wasn’t for the influence of anti-employment EU regulations and directives, it would be a far happier story.”
