1:25pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
TICKETS are still available for a two-day charity music festival in Pocklington later this month.
The ninth annual Pocktoberfest will be held at the Old Railway Station, on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28, with a line up of local and international bands announced to play over the weekend.
On Saturday, music and entertainment will come from Big Jo & The Piccolo Chickens, The Buffalo Skinners, Jules and The Gang, and The Glass Caves, who all come from the York area.
Sunday will see performances from Echo & The Bunnymen, an acoustic set from Ocean Colour Scene, Guillemots, and Glastonbury favourites Ellen & The Escapades.
Bishop Wilton’s own Club Smith will also perform on the second day of the festival, which hopes to raise £5,000 for Help For Heroes’ Phoenix House Recovery Centre in North Yorkshire.
Janet Farmer, Pocklington Arts Centre manager and the festival’s music programmer said: "We are extremely pleased with the music line-up for this year's festival. The success of last year's event has enabled us to attract a fantastic calibre of act for this year's event".
The festival was organised by Pocklington Round Table, Pocklington Arts Centre and Pocklington School, and sponsorship is still available by emailing chris.waite@pocktoberfest.co.uk
Day tickets are still available for the festival, which will also feature more than 50 real ales, lagers and ciders, and are available from the box office on 01759 301547 or at pocktoberfest.co.uk
