Cleaners take part in 24 hour strike
10:00am Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
CLEANERS for Transpennine Express services working for contractor’s Carlisle took part in industrial action yesterday.
The RMT trade union members took part in the 24 hour strike over pay and will also not do any overtime or work rest days until October 15.
RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said: “It is an absolute scandal that Carlisle continue to refuse to make any kind of reasonable offer to tackle the issue of poverty pay and poor working conditions of this group of key transport workers on the Carlisle Transpennine services.”
