York Housing Association to create 33 new homes

YORK Housing Association is to create 33 new homes, including 12 family homes in York, its annual meeting was told.

The association is investing £3.7 million in the developments, which also include 15 one-bedroom flats to ease homelessness in Scarborough. A further £250,00 has been earmarked for improvements to the association’s 750-strong housing stock.

The association, a not-for-profit organisation delivering services across the region, increased turnover by £569,000 last year to £3.8 million.

Chairman Jolyon Harrison said: “We have achieved another year of strong performance which is especially pleasing given the ongoing challenges of the external environment in which we are operating.

“We continue to invest in our local partnerships with local authorities, the Homes and Communities Agency, care providers, developers, fellow housing associations, and others so that we remain in a strong position to provide the best quality homes and services we can.”
