Clifton flats plan backed

FOUR flats are set to be built at the back of a pharmacy in York.

The one-bedroom properties will be created within an extension behind the Boots branch on Clifton, next to a former garage and car showroom where new housing is also being built.

City of York Council planning officers have now approved the flats, with the Planning and Design Partnership, the agents for the scheme, saying their height would be lower than that of the shop building and they would meet an “identified need” for such accommodation in the city centre.
