Carpet shop offers leftovers to budding artists

Style Flooring of York is offering budding artists the opportunity to collect leftover carpet and other materials in a bid to increase its recycling activity.

Martin Couchie, from Style Flooring of York, which is based in East Parade, Heworth , said: “We have lots of cardboard tubes, off cuts of carpet, sampling carpet tiles and vinyl flooring that we really can’t do anything with. I’m sure some of the city’s talented artists and designers would be able to make good use of them.”

Phone 01904 289266 to claim the materials. Martin is also offering a prize to the young artist who makes the most creative piece of art from the surplus carpets, tubes and tiles.
