Gillygate, in York, to close for building work

GILLYGATE in York will be partially closed for several days to allow building work to take place.

The closure will affect the southwest-bound lane, between Lord Mayor’s Walk and Portland Street. A notice issued by City of York Council said the arrangements could be in force between October 7 and 21, but are only expected to be needed on two days within that time due to scaffolding being put up and later dismantled.

Resurfacing works will also lead to a section of Main Street, in Elvington , between Dauby Close and Riverside Close, being shut to traffic between 9am and 4pm on one day between October 8 and 21. The precise day has not been confirmed, but a diversion will be in place.

Road closures everywhere at the south side because of flooding so do one on the west. Proper job. York is closed.
