THE farmyard was brought to York Food & Drink Festival yesterday to show people how their food is produced.

Among the wide variety of stalls and cookery on show at the festival is one by the National Farmer’s Union (NFU) which has brought calves and sheep and, yesterday, pigs to St Sampson’s Square.

Festival organisers are still cooking up daily treats for residents and visitors despite the floods.

Tonight and tomorrow sees the festival showcase local musical talent in the Fountain Marquee as part of the Press-sponsored Live at Five with Oxjam.

The show kicks off today at 5pm with a performance by Out of Order followed by Kirby Howarth, Bar Code Zebra, Andrew Clegg and rounds off with the Jonny Dobbs Band.
