THE Rotary Club of York Ainsty is holding a recruitment meeting with refreshments to encourage new volunteers to join the charity.

The Rotary Club, which provides “hands-on” help and support in the heart of its community and internationally, will hold the information evening tomorrow at 6.30pm.

The York Ainsty branch of the charity, which is open to men and women of all ages, has been going for 52 years, said president Stephen Ellis.

“We want to interest people to come along, see what we do and join us as members.

“For people who don’t know how to channel their efforts, Rotary gives a structured way of helping people,” he said.

The Rotary Club of York Ainsty is also sponsoring the Child Of The Year category at The Press’s Community Pride Awards in October.
