By Jennifer Bell, Crime reporter
POLICE are appealing for information after £100,000 worth of jewellery was stolen from a parked car in North Yorkshire.
Thieves snatched a black bag with brown trim containing the jewellery sometime between 6.45pm and 10.30pm on Sunday on The Crescent in Thirsk.
The items stolen include bangles, watches, rings and a number of unusual brooches.
PC Michael Wilson, of Northallerton Police, said: “I would like anyone who is offered this very distinctive jewellery for sale to contact us immediately.
“It is likely that whoever has stolen it will try to sell it to cash exchange shops, second hand shops or at car boot sales.
"If you are offered any items for sale, especially at suspiciously low prices, please call us.”
Anyone with any information should call the force on 101.
