THREE people were trapped and at least four were injured in a three-vehicle crash in the Selby district.
The incident occurred at about 10.40pm last night, in Highfield Lane, Womersley, and involved a Volkswagen Caddy, an Audi A3, and a red Citroen.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and fire crews had to cut three people free from the wreckage.
Two men were trapped in the Volkswagen, and one man was trapped in the Audi, but all were conscious and breathing.
Fire crews removed the doors from the vehicles to free the casualties. The driver of the Volkswagen suffered a broken femur, and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital.
Three men in the Citroen were taken to Doncaster Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Two suffered fractured wrists, another suffered an abdominal injury, and all suffered cuts and bruises. The condition of the occupant of the Audi driver was not yet known.
A police spokesman confirmed the road was closed until about 2am.
