Older residents urged to check energy bills
8:22am Friday 21st September 2012 in News
OLDER York residents are being urged to check their energy bill and make sure they are getting the best possible deal from their suppliers.
Age UK York has advised consumers to consider switching their account to a fixed-rate tariff. Terry Cogan, of Age UK York, said: “A fixed-rate tariff offers you visibility and peace of mind on what you are paying for a substantial period of time.
“However, to ensure that you can achieve the best deal for you at any time, we also recommend that your fixed tariff should come with a promise to not charge you any fees if you decided to switch to another deal before the end of the fixed term.”
Age UK Enterprises has arranged an energy package with energy company E.ON specifically for older people for the next two winters with information and advice on how to reduce energy usage.
