The York College Nursery will stay closed until at least October 1
THE York nursery at the centre of the investigation will remain shut until at least the beginning of next month, council officials have said.
York College ’s nursery, which offers day-care for 112 children aged six weeks to five years, will be closed until October 1 as agencies establish the circumstances surrounding Lydia Bishop’s death.
A letter was sent out to all parents yesterday advising them about alternative childcare options, said Peter Dwyer, director of adults, children and education at the City of York Council .
He could not comment any further while the matter remained a police investigation, but said the council was operating fully with all agencies involved.
