Welcome to Yorkshire website wins accolade

A WEBSITE promoting Yorkshire has been voted Best Travel Website for Groups by readers of a national magazine.
The Welcome to Yorkshire website, yorkshire.com , was awarded the accolade by readers of travel title Group Leisure. The website has had more than 15.3 million visitors since it launched in 2009, and it won the TravelMole Web Awards 2009 and 2010 for The Best Tourist Board website and the TravelMole Web Award 2010 for the Best Use of Video on a website.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said: “We are delighted to have won the Best Travel Website for Groups 2012 Award. To ensure we keep on top of our game we refreshed the site back in January and are delighted it’s such a hit with the readers.”
