York Explore Library to host storytelling awards

York Explore Library Learning Centre is to host the first ever British Awards for Storytelling Excellence on September 29.
The event to honour the hundreds of professional and semi-professional storytellers working in the UK is being held in York as part of the York 800 celebrations.
Dozens of nominees will be hoping to win categories including Outstanding Male and Female Storytellers of 2012, Outstanding Community Project and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Voting through the website storyawards.org.uk will close at 9am on September 28 and the award ceremony will begin at 7pm on September 29.
