A TEENAGE motorcyclist has been taken to hospital this morning after a crash near York's outer ring road which has caused large queues on the edge of the city.
The collision, involving a Yamaha bike and a Vauxhall Astra, happened at about 8.50 am on the stretch of Shipton Road through Rawcliffe, near its junction with the A1237.
Police are still at the scene and have closed the section of road where the crash happened, between the outer ring road and Howard Drive, with traffic being turned back from the scene. The extent of the teenager's injuries are not yet known, but are not believed to be life-threatening.
Anybody who saw the collision should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
