New “taste trail” for Food and Drink Festival
8:49am Wednesday 19th September 2012 in News
A NEW “taste trail” enabling visitors to sample the delights of York’s restaurants and food shops is one of the new attractions at this year’s Food and Drink Festival.
The trail, which features 24 city-centre venues, will run every day of the festival and is intended to encourage people to visit established food venues in York – not just festival stalls.
Visitors buy a book of vouchers, either from the information point in St Sampson’s Square, or online at yorkfoodfestival.com
Participating venues include Rafi’s Spice Box; Fourboys Dessert Café, Love Cheese and York Cocoa House.
The books cost £8 for one or £12 for two and entitle holders to sample food or drink at each business, along with discounts on products.

Or try the York 'Dis-taste' Trail on a Saturday night, start from the top of Micklegate, past Retro & Flares, viewing the lovely sights that part of the city has to offer, cross the river, turn left at coney street, past the inimitable smell from the Chinese 'restaurant' that is emitting from the Willow, listen to the heady tunes from the place and enjoy the aromas that permeate the air at such a time, you will soon start to experience that at the back of your throat. If you still feel you would like a further sample of all York has to offer on your 'Dis-taste' tour, why not head up to Mcdonalds, sampling the finest example of York's greatest live entertainment venue at that time of night, you can often see live wrestling or sometimes the handbag pugilists are seen out in force. Continue up towards Stonegate, where later on you can sample some of columbias finest spices and herbs!
