Three-year-old girl dies in slide accident at York College

A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl has died in a tragic accident in a play area at York College this afternoon.
North Yorkshire Police said it appeared that the girl had used the slide and, on reaching the bottom, become caught up in another piece of play equipment.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to York Hospital , where she was pronounced dead.
A force spokeswoman said officers were called by the Ambulance Service at around 2.35pm today to the play area at the college on Sim Balk Lane. “The scene is currently cordoned off as officers investigate the incident,” she said. “At this stage, police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
“The police are carrying out an investigation into the incident to establish exactly what happened and would like anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them on 101.”
She added that Ofsted and the Health and Safety Executive had been informed
