Bargain tickets offer cheaper travel on buses

YORK’S biggest bus operator is launching two money-saving ticket offers for passengers.
The company said it had listened to its customers’ views by introducing tickets which benefit groups of people travelling together and using the network at weekends.
A new £7.40 fare will allow unlimited bus travel for any group of up to four people after 9am and all day at weekends.
“This is aimed at small groups currently driving and parking, or using taxis,” said a spokesman.
He said the second offer was the chance to pay £6 for unlimited travel on First buses from 6pm on Friday evening through to the close of service on Sunday.
Simon Pearson, of First, said the ticket offers were primarily aimed at the leisure market in York and should prove popular with people going out in York in the evening or at weekends, as well as the millions of tourists who visit the city.

The weekend ticket might work for locals who work weekends, but otherwise does seem aimed at tourists.
