Cemetery Road closure alert

PART of a York road is to be closed for more than a month to allow gas works to be carried out.

The closure will affect the northbound lane of Cemetery Road near its junction with Fulford Road and will come into force on September 24, lasting until October 28.

Diversions will be in place along Fishergate, Paragon Street, Barbican Road and other parts of Cemetery Road.

Gas works will also mean a section of Farndale Avenue being closed between September 24 and October 12, with traffic being diverted along Highfield, Baysdale Avenue and Tranby Avenue, while a resurfacing scheme will lead to part of the footpath on the south side of Bishopgate Street and Tower Street being closed between September 17 and September 28. The pavement on the other side of both roads will remain open.
